Why 10K2Zero?

Preventing child and adolescent suicide requires collective action across the systems and environments in which young people live.

10K2Zero is a collective impact initiative co-led by the Centre for Mental Health Law & Policy, ILS, and Quicksand. It brings together researchers, civil society organisations, policymakers, funders, educators, mental health professionals and other ecosystem actors to build a coordinated response.

Data, research papers, policy briefs—generate the evidence-base required to tackle this complex issue.

Policy & Advocacy

Translate evidence into actionable policy recommendations and engage policymakers at local, state and national levels.

Interventions & Tools

Develop, adapt and test practical tools and interventions that can strengthen prevention across different environments.

What we’ve
done so far

September 2025

Launched 10K2ZERO

The initiative was launched through a virtual panel discussion bringing together sector experts, researchers and advocates with lived experience.

April 2026

Brainstorming Lab

We brought together sector experts, researchers, funders, ecosystem builders and policymakers for a two-day Brainstorming Lab to develop a collective roadmap for child and adolescent suicide prevention in India.

Consultations

We are undertaking consultations with children and adolescents, teachers, and parents. The consultations aim to understand experiences, perspectives and needs and inform the development of future research, interventions and tools.
